What makes Kid's First Optimist Club COMO special compared to other clubs or organizations in Columbia, Missouri? Optimism is a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist Creed to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs; to inspire respect for law; to promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people; to aide and encourage the development of youth in the belief that the giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life, and the world.
Our Impact
Kid's First actively partners with a wide range of community organizations by providing small but impactful grants. These grants help ensure that essential programs and services for children not only continue but also have the opportunity to grow, innovate, and reach more families. By supporting local partners, Kids First strengthens the community's safety net for children and invests in a brighter, healthier future for every child.
Our Values and Vision

Optimists have a variety of programs from oratorical and essay contests, fishing derbies, junior golf, scholarship programs, junior Optimists clubs, youth leadership opportunities, and much, much more.
